Mise-en-scene:
The Performance Part of the Video is usually filmed on a Stage or outdoors in a public space, one example of a public space was in Rain Dance Maggie, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the video was filme on a rooftop in California. If the peformance part is on a stage, to make the video less boring, they will use exciting camera angles. The Lighting is Usually high key or low key, nothing inbetween as rock band tend to go for a more extreme look. and wear casual clothing to look like they dont care what people think.
Camera work:
Close ups, lots of close ups of the Band and the instruments as these are the key parts that make up the Performance in the narrative parts there will be lots of close ups as rock bands generally explore unuasual themes so facial expressions are prevalent.
Editing:
Lots of cuts between the narrative and the performance aspect of the music video, this is due to the fact that the narrative explores themes and is then backed up by the performance part. Different shots are pieced together in a clever way by frequently using jump cuts.
